Getting Set Up
My team will be using a platform called “Basecamp” for your project management. You will be receiving another message with instructions on how to join your project, so be on the lookout for an invitation from my assistant, Cindy, with the following “from” line:

Let’s go over what you need to get started. First, if you have not done so, please use Basecamp to upload whatever resume(s), cover letters, and any other documentation you want us to review.
Below is the link to your “Career Success Blueprint.” Filling this out is your first step. It will help you to contextualize your goals and your supporting achievements.
Most clients take 2 to 5 days to complete and return their Blueprint. Knowing this helps us to stick to our promised turnaround times to you. If you find you need more time than this, just let us know.
As you are completing the Blueprint, if you have any trouble whatsoever contextualizing everything you want in your next career move – or creating metrics around your accomplishments – here are two short coaching audios I recorded to help you:

After we review your information, we may have a few additional questions. Please let us know if you prefer phone or email for additional questions. We prefer email (via Basecamp) as it helps us organize the information, but we are happy to go over things on the phone too.
Once our intake is complete, we will begin the design on your new executive resume.
Testimonials / Endorsements
After completing the blueprint – the very next thing to focus on is gathering 3-5 short endorsements from your network. I design a page of endorsements for you that you can use as a follow up with executive recruiter discussions or in a post-interview thank you letter. This list of third-party testimonials has a very powerful effect and is often a key reason a company extends a formal offer to you. You may already have endorsements you wish for us to use that are posted on LinkedIn or somewhere else. Please cut and paste these into a document and upload them to Basecamp so we can design a testimonials page for you. These testimonials can also be used on your website.

If you would like to gather fresh testimonials, I recommend you ask for a short quote and then suggest a theme that you know that person can speak to (your leadership strengths, your ability to turnaround divisions and so on). Testimonials from a diverse group are best if you can. This group can include colleagues, board members, superiors, people who worked for you, vendors, other community leaders who have worked with you on non-profit or community projects or similar. They should be coached (by you) to share strengths and results that align with your next role.
Private Coaching Sessions
During our private coaching sessions, I will be walking you through a job search strategy customized for your particular goals. I will be sharing resources with you and working with you to set up systems to make your job search easy, efficient and effective. When you book your coaching session, be sure to fill out the coaching questionnaire in the calendar if you want me to better understand and prepare for the areas you wish to receive guidance on. So, for our first session you will want to have something to take notes with and you should have access to a computer and the internet. I can also address any personal concerns or particular areas you would like coaching on during this session.
A professional photo is of critical importance for your LinkedIn Profile and Website. Please send us a high-resolution photo that you would like for us to use on your new website and LinkedIn profile.
*If you are booking a photoshoot, I recommend they are taken in natural, full light or studio light. Close up, smile, against a black or white background (white looks fabulous). Dress should be in alignment with your profession – you can try a more polished, and then a more relaxed outfit. Sometimes I will elect to use 2 or 3 of your professionally done photos.
Final Resume and Cover letter
After we go over any changes you may want on your draft resume and value proposition letter, I will provide you with three final copies (word, pdf and ascii text) with instructions on when to use what version.
Additional Marketing Collateral
In addition to your resume and value proposition letter, I will also be developing for you an executive biography, online website, an additional one-page networking resume and additional value proposition letters for you aligned to PE / VC firms and executive recruiters.
Recruiter and Private Equity / VC Distribution
I will be distributing on your behalf, your resume and cover letter to a large list of executive recruiters (national, global or both) and Private Equity and Venture Capital Firms who are aligned to your industry and/or position. After the distribution is complete, I will send you a detailed contact form of each recruiter I contacted in Excel format.
A few things we will look to enhance in your new profile include:
• Privacy, creating a vanity link and getting endorsements.
• Keyword optimization.
• Creation of a Summary statement and narrative of past positions.
• Involvement in relevant groups, which we will recommend to you.
• Making a few key connections, which we will suggest for you.

It’s my pleasure to give you as a gift one of my most popular coaching calls titled “How to Use LinkedIn to Pull Opportunities to You.” LinkedIn is a powerful tool to connect with your audience, establish thought leadership and set perception. In this audio, I show you how to easily leverage that.
During the first 90 days of your career transition, you will have email access to me for coaching, for resolving any issues and as a private sounding board to discuss your transition. Our most successful clients take full advantage of this. In addition, you have two 15-minute phone coaching sessions that you can use incrementally throughout your job search (at your discretion) to get coaching through interviews and negotiating job offers, as well as for ongoing support.
